Michel is Family Equality’s Chief Financial Officer. He brings to our team 13 years of finance and administration experience in the LGBTQ rights space, previously as Director of Operations at Freedom to Marry in its final years leading to the national marriage victory in the Supreme Court.
Michel’s interest in “right livelihood” was first nurtured through his early pursuit of the Catholic priesthood, taking him to Europe to earn his degree in philosophy at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven), which he completed as a catholic seminarian. Pivoting, he then committed to live his life as an Out person through working to help others do the same.
In his spare time Michel travels, spending time with family and friends, and wrestles continually with an on-again-off-again meditation practice. He lives with his husband in Manhattan.
